Let's talk paperwork. After a lease buyout, the title has to move from the leasing company to you, or to your lender if you financed it.
How that works depends on your state and your leasing company. Sometimes the title is mailed. Sometimes it's electronic. Registration may need updating too, and timelines vary.
Here's what to do. Ask the leasing company how they release the title and how long it takes. Ask your lender what they need from you. And keep copies of everything until the new title is done.
